Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts

Established in 1939, the Administrative Office is the administrative arm of the federal Judiciary devoted to serving the courts in fulfilling the federal judicial system's critical mission, which is providing justice to the citizens of this country. The agency provides service to the federal courts in three essential areas: administrative support, program management, and policy development. It is charged with implementing the policies of the Judicial Conference of the United States and supporting the network of Conference committees. It is the focal point for Judiciary communication, information, program leadership, and administrative reform

The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, based in Washington D.C., is the central support office for the Federal court system throughout the United States.

This office implemented McAfee Help Desk for managing their support operation and wanted to extend its capabilities to provide the core of a self help system. Cedar Technology Associates provided:

  • Installation services for the help desk software and troubleshooting for the basic system configuration.

“Whenever Ian was scheduled to come to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts to help us with the McAfee product, there developed an atmosphere of profound relief that our difficulties would be resolved-the magic worker was coming. Even the most hard core do-it-yourselfers would anticipate Ian's arrival to pick his brain for knowledge and skills that only he seemed to possess. Until he enlightened us to all the inner workings of the McAfee product, whenever a problem would arise, our first reaction was get Ian to help. Ian was invaluable in ensuring the successful implementation and effective use of the McAfee Helpdesk that we are using to good effect in the Administrative Office and soon to be used throughout the Federal Judiciary.

His smile and light-hearted laugh dissipated the most depressing and desperate circumstances that we faced. His calm assurance made us view the future with hope and a belief that all would be well.”

Tom Timko,

Administrative Office of the US Courts.
